Creating a new tab

To create a new tab, click New tab. You can then browse or search the Web like normal from within this tab.

Open link in new tab

To open a link from a Web page into a new tab, right-click that link and from the menu, select Open link into new tab. Click the new tab and you’ll see the page opening into it.

Switch tabs

If you have more than one tab open, you can switch to one of the hidden tabs by clicking it.

Close tabs

To close a tab, click the cross to the right of the tab.

Test your learning

Feel like you have understood this session? Great, take a moment to complete this these steps:

  • Open Edge so that the NFU Mutual intranet is in the first tab.
  • Create a new tab.
  • Visit one of your favourite Web pages in that tab.
  • Open one of the links from that page into a new tab and open that tab.
  • Open the first tab so that you can view the Intranet.
  • Close the second tab.
  • Practice using tabs.
